Dr. Burnikel sent me his comments on my x-rays from my visit and said I have end stage arthritis in my right hip, also severe arthritis in that same joint. I have written back to him asking for more information, such as if he thinks I need a new hip. I trust he will get back to me with his thoughts as soon as he can.

It was life changing. I was suffering with a lot of hip pain. It all went away after the Surgery.

Honestly, I would have liked a little more attention paid to my particular situation post surgery. I felt like "OK, the surgery went well now move along and work with PT. Next patient please.' Also, it was not entirely clear to me about how I was supposed to work with PT folks that were not on site. Earliest follow-up, phone appt., was not till six weeks out.

Somewhat confused about getting recommended therapy. Seemed to be rushed to leave. Nurse called me when I was in parking lot after I asked if that was everything?

Upon entering Building 200C, I was very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of all whom I encountered, including Dr. Burnikel and his staff. I love my doctor, but I'm disappointed in Prima's billing system. My secondary insurance paid my hospital bill balance. I brought the receipt to Prisma. They keep asking me to pay what has already been paid. I don't understand why Prisma can't keep their financial records straight

Check-in at Patewood: I made the effort to do the on-line check-in in order to expedite the process for both the receptionist and me. However, I was disappointed to have to wait in line behind a patient who had not done the on-line registration. Suggest and "express lane" for people who have already registered.

Dr. Burnikel and his staff, and even the receptionist, all are very friendly. They do very well. They are very knowledgeable. Couldn't ask for a better visit.

Way too long to get an appointment(six weeks) for a very painful condition --even though I called 3 times to see if there was a cancelation I could get. This person handling the call in--- did NOT seem to care that I was in pain and needed an earlier appointment.

I liked the doctor very much and would trust him with my health issues. But, I think that no one should have to sit in the waiting area as long as I did. 15 minutes past the appointment time is acceptable.

I do not understand why I needed another x-ray of my knee when I had an MRI done three or four weeks before.

Very mixed messages between this visit and the last, when surgery was discussed at length, clearly spelling out that he did not do meniscus repair, only joint replacement. This time he said he was hopeful no surgery would be necessary.

Dr. Burnikel is the best! A most competent surgeon who assured a complication free surgery. I believe it was because of his competency and the strategies used by his office and the entire surgical staff at Patewood Hospital to be the reason I did not have any problems perioperatively or postoperatively. Every single person who touched me or who I had any interaction with at Patewood Hospital that day were the absolute best that can be! Many thanks to all. I am forever grateful.

Even tho I had some problems after the surgery and had to have revision surgery everyone taking care of my case has been focused on my recovery making sure they attended to my every need as a patient.

Overall the experience was great I had to big of a gap between my home therapy and outpatient therapy. I lost 10 days with no therapist and I just feel this was really unnecessary

This was my first visit to the clinic and it was to see about a surgery that I have been dreading. I left feeling very confident that I will have the best of care and that I have chosen the correct doctor.

I have never thought of doctors visit as being pleasant, however, yesterday was a pleasant experience. It has been a couple of years since II have been seen Dr. Burnikel. There seems to have been some adjustments in the process. Hope Prisma and UHC can come to an agreement.

The front desk staff could be a little more friendly. They really didn't seem to enjoy their job. Once in the clinical area everyone was attentive and friendly. Very professional. At check out you had two ladies that were having sipping on there drinks, having personal conversations and laughing it up. Not a professional look for Prisma. Clearly they didn't have enough work to do.

You are a tertiary care provider and a magnet hospital so, my expectations for your care delivery are commensurate with your accolades. I am happy to tell you, you have reached those expectations. You have a terrific Ortho program and, every member of your team, exhibits professionalism, empathy, and respect towards their patients. It is a wonderful thing to see and experience. The medical office staff, the hospital staff, and the home care staff make the success of your hospital and honor health care delivery the way it should be. It takes great leadership and vision and there, I tip my hat to Dr Burnikel. A great surgeon with humanity, humility, and a wonderful sense of humor. Congratulations to all! My only suggestion is PLEASE give your home care team laptops with better connectivity so they can carry out their jobs more efficiently.

Dr. Burnikel was awesome! He answered all my questions and concerns about my right hip, such as metal levels, visits, and elevated levels. He was very personable in our visit, and wouldn't hesitate to see him again when needed.

Waited a hour for Doctor with no knowledge of the delay

Just that everyone in the office and throughout the visit was lovely. Even the lady who was in the larger waiting room after I checked in but before I was called back. She was so helpful and kind. Started the visit off right. Odd to say that I "enjoyed" a visit to the doctor, but I did. Felt a sense of relief and assurance after.

Dr Burnikel has replaced both of my knees and one hip over the last 5 years. Should I have any problems with my good hip, I will definitely call this office, and pray that he is still practicing !
